Contract employees working at the Udhagamandalam Government Hospital have urged the District Collector to find a solution to their problem related to their jobs.

The employees, who gathered at the collectorate on Wednesday, submitted a petition to the Collector. According to them, most of the employees are working on contract. “Every employee is entitled for five days leave every month. But the management does not permit us to take off or leave.

The hospital authorities terminated the services of an employee when he took a day’s leave. When all of us approached the higher ups, they threatened to dismiss us,” they said in the petition and urged the Collector to find a solution to their problem.
