A 10-year old boy today committed suicide by hanging using a towel in the bath room of his house in Saravanampatti, reportedly after his father scolded him for not taking bath early.

Kapil Raj, a fifth standard student, who was playing was upset when his father, Jayaprakash allegedly scolded him in front of his
friends, for not taking bath early on the auspicious day of new year, police said.

The boy in a huff went to the bathroom with a towel.

The parents, who were waiting for their son for long, broke open the door and found he was hanging on a pipe there and immediately rushed him to the Government hospital.

However, the doctors there declared the boy brought dead and sent the body for postmortem, police said
