Tirupur doctor found dead in Delhi

Tirupur: A 28-year-old doctor from Tirupur, who was doing his PG at University College of Medical Sciences, Delhi, was found dead this morning at his house in Delhi. His family suspected foul play.

Sarath Babu, from Parapalayam, was doing his post-graduation at the Delhi institute runs under AIIMS. He completed his MBBS from Coimbatore Medical College in 2015 and joined UCMS last year.

His parents Selvamani, running a dyeing unit, and Kannammal were informed around 8 am that their son was found unconscious in his room in Delhi and was being rushed to the hospital for treatment. Almost an hour later, they were informed that he was dead.

Sarath’s parents alleged foul play and said they had to their son last night and he did not show any suicidal tendency.

According to sources, Sarath was found in an unconscious condition by his roommates around 6.30 am near his washroom and was taken to hospital. Doctors declared him brought dead. Delhi Police recorded written statements of two of his roommates. These students are also from Tamil Nadu.

A similar incident happened in 2016, when Saravanan, a PG student from Tamil Nadu, was found dead in his hostel room at AIIMS.
