Memorial for Narayanasamy Naidu: Foundation stone laid

The foundation stone for a memorial for farmer leader Narayanasamy Naidu was laid at Vayampalayam village near SS Kulam in the district on Saturday.
The manimandapam, to be built at a cost of Rs. 1.5 crore, was promised by former Chief Minister Jayalalithaa in 2011, State Municipal Administration Minister S.P. Velumani said while laying the foundation stone.
AIADMK MLAs from the region, Rajya Sabha member A.K. Selvaraj, senior district officials and farmers were present.
