Central Budget: Hopeful of getting necessary funds, says OPS

COIMBATORE: Deputy Chief Minister O. Paneerselvam on Wednesday expressed confidence that the Central Budget will allocate the required funds for Tamil Nadu.

Talking to reporters at the airport, Paneerselvam said that the budget to be presented tomorrow will provide funds necessary for various projects as sought by the State.

On Cauvery issue, he said that the crop in Delta districts can be saved only if Karnataka released seven to 10 tmcft water.

Stating that it was the right of Tamil Nadu to seek Cauvery water share, he said that similarly it was the duty of Karnataka to release the share to the State.

The Government was exerting pressure on NEET issue, during every meeting with Prime Minister, he said.
