6-day techno-cultural fest begins in Coimbatore

Coimbatore: Over 16,000 students from over 150 institutions are participating in the fifth edition of Yugam, a national-leveltechno-cultural fest organised by a private engineering college here, which began here today.
The six-day Yugam’18, will witness over 60 technical events like RC car race,robot war, forensic, cadathon and game of codes, Kumraguru College of Technlogy Principal Dr Senthil Jayavel told reporters here.
With 125 plus events – 65 technical and 60 cultural – the workshops on various topics began today with participation of students across Tamil Nadu and a few from other States, he said.
The event is themed as ‘Circle’ representing completion and the social campaign and a food truck, totally run by transgenders will be the highlights of the event, Senthil said.
There will also be national level basketball, handball and volleyball tournaments.
