COIMBATORE: A few Bharat Sena activists on Monday urged the district administration to erect a pillar in memory of those died in the 1998 serial blasts in the city.

Coming to the collectorate with a ‘golden pillar’, the activists submitted a memorandum to the District Collector and urged to install a ‘memorial pillar’, for the 58 victims, who died in the serial blasts during the visit of BJP leader L.K. Advani.

Since homage is paid every year at RS Puram on February 14 by various Hindu outfits and also BJP, the pillar should be installed there, they said adding that the administration was neglecting their appeals in this regard for the last few years, they said.
