Coimbatore : The ‘Academy Award for Nobel Peace’ from the US has been conferred on Dr Ketzia David Prakasam, a prominent philanthropist, social worker and spiritual worker of the city.

Incidentally Dr. Ketzia is the first Indian woman to receive the award which was presented yesterday as part of `International Women’s Day celebrations at Bethel City Cathedral here, a release said today.

The Academy of Universal Global Peace (AUGP), USA, organised training programmes for women, as part of the celebrations.

Awards were given to the women who had undergone training in women’s empowerment and were presented by AUGP Founder-Chairman Dr. Madhu Krishan.

A three-day conference-cum-training programme for women’s empowerment was organised here from March 7 to 9, with the theme ‘Women’s Empowerment for Sustainable Development to Build our Nation Strong and Powerful to Establish Global Peace,’ the release said.
