The wife of a habitual drunkard came up with a bold and effective way to cure his addiction to alcohol.

The woman, Lily, was upset over her husband Jayakumar’s drinking habits. Jayakumar was employed at a private firm and used to always come home drunk. Almost all his money was spent on alcohol. There were frequent quarrels at home.

Finally, Lily decided to do something about her husband’s drinking habits. She followed him and identified the shop where he bought his drinks. Then, the next day, she went to the shop and sat at the bar, waiting for her husband to arrive. The workers at the alcohol shop tried to convince her to leave. She didn’t budge.

When her husband walked in, he was surprised to see Lily sitting there. When he asked her, she said that she was tired of admonishing him and that she had decided to start drinking with him, because she couldn’t convince him to give up the habit. She asked him to order the drinks for her too.

Soon, a quarrel broke out between the husband and wife. Police were called in, but Lily didn’t budge. She declared that if her husband continued to drink, she will drink too at the same bar.

A reformed Jayakumar has promised to not drink anymore.
