Kamal Haasan meets HDK on Cauvery, says happy with CM’s response

Bengaluru: Actor and politician Kamal Haasan met CM HD Kumaraswamy at his official residence ‘Krishna’ in Bengaluru on Monday to discuss the Cauvery water-sharing issue. Speaking to reporters, Kumaraswamy said farmers of both the states were facing water crisis, and that the two states should resolve the matter through dialogue.
“Whatever problem is there we must equally share it…farmers from both states are important,” Kumaraswamy was quoted as saying by Indian Express. Haasan said he came as representative of Tamil Nadu people and not as an actor or a political leader.
“I am ready to be the bridge between the two states. We need water for kuruvai crop. Kumaraswamy has responded positively,” he was quoted as saying by The Hindu. Haasan said he hadn’t discussed anything about Rajinikanth-starrer Kaala, which will not be released in Karnataka.
