Gory bus accident near Ooty claims 7 lives and many injured

A government bus carrying around 40 passengers lost control and fell into a 500 feet gorge in Manthada near Ooty. With no tress or fences to break its path, the bus rolled down the gorge with the passengers screaming in terror. While 7 people died , 15 of the injured were taken to the Coimbatore GH for treatment. Nilgiris District Collector Innocent Divya rushed to the accident spot and then went on to the hospital to visit the injured.
It is also said that the bus was not speeding and was going quite slow. Anxious relatives of the injured could be seen gathered around in the hospital .
