Muscular dystrophy – a fatal disease which affects the male children

On the occasion of Fathers Day , an awareness program on muscular dystrophy was held in Coimbatore today. Doctors and specialists who spoke in the seminar stressed on the importance of early diagnosis and gave pointers on the symptoms. Considered as a “Rare disorder” worldwide ,it is mostly neglected in India. Being genetic, it affects the male children in the age group of 3 to 4 years and becomes fatal by the time they reach the age of 20. Awareness would go a long way in dealing with this condition is the consensus of the doctors.
