Bengaluru: A city businessman was left stunned after his pet dog, an American Pit Bull Terrier, delivered a record 21 puppies. The dog, Eva, is owned by Sathish S, a resident of Padmanabhanagar and a dog breeder, reports TOI.

The puppies were delivered at his residence over a period of 36 hours on June 15. Of the 21 puppies, 17 have survived, the report said. “The highest litter reported in this breed is 12 to 13 puppies so far. But this is for the first time that we have a Pit Bull giving birth to 21 puppies.

This was a pleasant surprise,” Satish was quoted as saying by TOI. Eva along with Gabbar were imported from Australia for Rs10.5 lakh and Rs25 lakh respectively. And city’s dog lovers are queueing up for the puppies, with 8 of them already finding new homes. Of course, they don’t come cheap, as according to Satish each puppy is likely to be sold for Rs 1.5 lakh!
