Helmet thefts on the rise in Coimbatore

As it is mandatory by law for two wheeler riders to wear helmet, the riders give much importance to helmets to avoid fine and also for their own safety. At the same time, helmet thefts are also on the rise. A CCTV footage from Pothanur area in Coimbatore shows a couple of youths on a bike filching a helmet which was hung on a bike parked near a house. Police find it quite difficult to prevent such thefts .
