Go Glam Shopping exhibition and sale, organized by Coimbatore-based Heena Rahul gives home entrepreneurs a platform to display and sell their products and connect with potential buyers. Another edition of this event took off at The Residency on Saturday.

Based on the timing of the season, the theme of the sixth edition of Go Glam Shopping is Diwali Dhamaka.

This two-day event brings together entrepreneurs from across the country under one roof. On display are products ranging from apparels to jewellery to home decor, among others. There are 45 stalls in all selling a plethora of products that are sure to be useful this Diwali season.

The expo was inaugurated by six women from the city. Each of them were happy to be a part of this celebration of entrepreneurship.

“This is a perfect platform for the home entrepreneurs to create awareness about their home based brand and also sell their products. It is wonderful to see so many such home entrepreneurs under one roof. Coimbatore is an entrepreneurial city. Off late our city has been witnessing many such shopping festivals. This is proof of how successful the concept of entrepreneurship is in our city,” Premi Baalu, President, Bharathi Park Ladies Association (BPLA), said.

Employed in a private bank, Lalitha Gautam looks forward to such shopping festivals and events. “My job keeps me occupied all day long. I cannot travel across the country to purchase the best clothes and jewellery that is available in each region. I do not like to purchase products online. At such shopping exhibitions I can touch, feel, experience and shop for the stuff that I need from participating vendors from across the country,” Lalitha Gautam, said after inaugurating the exhibition.

Also present was socialite Sonali Pradeep who was one of the six women who inaugurated this exhibition. “It is encouraging to see many entrepreneurs, especially women come out to display and sell their products,” Sonali said.

Geetha Sridhar, who was also a part of the inauguration, felt that such shopping events were the need of the hour. “Coimbatore crowd is becoming fashion conscious. A lot of Coimbatoreans want to stay updated with the fashion trends similar to the ones in the metros. Such events that bring people and products from across the country to our city are a nice way to connect the buyers and sellers,” Geeta said.
