Senior police officials of Whitefield Divison have gifted a honeymoon package to a constable as a token of appreciation for his daring act of chasing a robber all alone in the middle of the night.
Venkatesh who is going to wed in November was pleasantly surprised when he was presented with the gift in advance during the weekly parade by his seniors. The package includes three-nights-four-days honeymoon package to Kerala including Munnar, Alappuzha and other places, reports Bangalore Mirror.
Venkatesh was on his regular night rounds when he heard a man screaming for help on Sarjapur Road around 2.45 am. When he reached the spot, Venkatesh saw that two robbers on two separate two-wheelers were robbing a man of his mobile phone. They immediately fled from the scene after seeing Venkatesh.
However, Venkatesh chased the robbers for four kilometres and manage to nab one accused. He was brought to the police station. The news spread among the senior officials who commended Venkatesh’s presence of mind and commitment. Appreciating his actions, Deputy Commissioner of Police of Whitefield Division and other police officers felicitated him for his courageous act.
