The reason for a rape is the rapist !

A gated community with 24 hours security in the heart of the capital city, Chennai , was the venue of the most heinous crime in recent times. The prolonged rape of a twelve year old child by around 22 men has sent shock waves across the country. Where did we go wrong? The incapacity of a society to protect a child is to be mulled over and swift actions need to be taken to prevent such a crime from ever happening again.In this video from The Covai Post, a panel of experts discuss on the measures to be taken to safeguard a child from such dangers. While the psychologist Ms.Swathi listed better communication between parents and the children and early sexual education, Ms.Ambujam, advocate stressed on better judiciary infrastructure and speedy trials.Retired DSP Malarmathi pointed out that availability of more forensic labs and kits would go a long way in nabbing the rapist quickly. All said and done, it is the rapist who is the reason for a rape and the sexual abuse cases should be approached with that in mind.
