The elderly who were an integral part of every Indian family , cherished and respected , are now pushed to the corners of the society. They undergo severe abuses-physical, emotional and monetary. How can this state of affairs be justified? It is not only the government which has to take steps to ensure the protection of our senior citizens, but also the duty of every individual to protect and safeguard them. The youth of present times have to be inculcated right from the beginning with a sense of responsibility towards our elders.
