Residents of Ganapathi Pudhur, along with various organizations, have, on Monday, petitioned the District Collector Archana Patnaik to suggest the state government to lay a service road near the Textool flyover.
Narayanasamy, the Secretary of CPM said that the service road will help the people of the area to go about their work without being stuck in traffic. “People from Streets number 1 to 5, Balan Nagar, Sekkan Garden, and Rathinapuri are forced to take a long route to go to schools and workplaces in peak hours, and get stuck in traffic. If there is a service road, it will be of great help to these residents,” he opined.
He further said that the service road will be of great help during emergencies. “The district administration should act swiftly and set up a service road as soon as possible,” he said.
Organizations including CPM, DYFI, Indian Democratic Youth Association, and the Union of All Women’s Association presented a joint petition in this regard.
