Mount Carmel girls donate hair for cancer patients

Bengaluru: Students of Mount Carmel College donated their locks to cancer patients as part of Gift Hair Gift Confidence initiative in the City. Cancer patients go into depression during chemotherapy session as they lose their hair. Some of them even avoid chemotherapy.
Considering this The Cherian Foundation had organised Gift Hair Gift Confidence campaign to collect hair for the cancer patients. The drive was held in association with the Ladies Circle India, reports Deccan Herald. And at least 50 students of Mount Carmel College happily donated their hair towards the noble cause.
One student, Dhruti of the college tonsured her head during the drive. The foundation will collect the hair to develop natural wigs for the cancer patients from marginalised communities. The collected hair will be treated and segregated according to its size, colour and texture, it is reported.
