Five-day wildlife photography exhibition begins

Over 1,500 photographs, showing the importance of biodiversity hot spot, Western Ghats and its importance in water conservation and human animal conflicts, find place in the 12th Wild Life Photographic Exhibition, which began here today.

A video show on biodiversity conservation was the cynosure during the five-day exhibition organised at the Technology Park of Tamil Nadu Agricultural University by OSAI, NGO, in association with Tamil Nadu Forest Department, Rotary Club of Metropolis and National Service Scheme (NSS) of the University (TNAU).

Over 200 undergraduate first year students from the university, school students from Tirupur and Coimbatore participated in the exhibition, inaugurated by Mahendra Pumps (P) Ltd Managing
Director, Mahendra Ramadas, as Kalidasan, President, OSAI President, explained the event, in the presence of District Forest officer, M. Senthilkumar.

Dean (Agriculture) of the University, S. Mahimaraja called upon young volunteers to participate in nation development by conserving the biodiversity.

Mudumalai Tiger Reserve Field Director, Srinivas Reddy urged the young volunteers to develop interest in wild life photography and conservation.
