Indian Standard Time was first introduced on September 1, 1947,but came into practice only from 1955. Though India covers a span of 3000 km from east to west with a time difference of two hours, only one standard time is observed throughout. Due to logistical issues, the Indian government has decide to observe only one IST, while the US of A has multiple standard times and does not have any problems with it.Today, being the anniversary of IST, The Covai Post brings you this video with interesting facts about the same .
