Even as the issue on the attack of Sun TV crew is still simmering, the multi-specialty hospital seems to be embroiled in yet another issue. And this time it is the allegation of medical negligence that has left a 14-year-old girl brain dead.

While the parents and the relatives protested outside the hospital premises alleging negligence on part of the doctors, the hospital management however clarified that the girl was referred from PSG Hospital in a very serious condition and there was no negligence on part of the hospital. “If doctors could cure all serious neurological complications, then they would be God”, said an official stating that the hospital is doing all that it can to treat the girl appropriately.

According to sources, T. Swathi(14), a ninth standard student of a private school in Podanur was admitted to PSG hospital on Monday after she reportedly fell unconscious in a bus. The doctors who examined the girl reported the presence of a tumor and suggested that they shift the patient to Kovai Medical Center and Hospital.

One of the relatives of the girl alleged that the doctors had confirmed the presence of tumor and suggested radiology treatment to be performed after a month’s time. However yet another doctor decided to perform radiology on the girl on Thursday, leaving the girl brain dead. The girl is under ventilator support currently, the relatives said.
