12-year old female elephant found dead

Coimbatore : A female elephant was found dead near a temple in Kopanari in Periyanaickenpalayam Forest range on the outskirts, in the early morning of Thursday.
On information, forest department officials, along with a veterinarian rushed to the spot and recovered the body.
Postmortem was carried on the 12-year elephant and further investigations on to ascertain the cause of the death, department sources said .
