Video films to train workers in textile mills

Coimbatore : In view of workers’ shortage and high attrition level, Indian Texpreneurs Federation(ITF) has created an ecosystem to make textile industry competitive so as to face the global competition by way of better manufacturing efficiency and best practices by bringing together all the textile entrepreneurs .

Spinning mills, in the current scenario are facing worker shortage and high levels of attrition, which results in new recruitment and training as a continuous process in all units, ITF Convenor, Prabhu Dhamodharan said.

In view of this ITF is planning to make *training video films* for various departments on work methods and best practices and in the process released its first training video on Autoconer deptartment, he said.

This includes Right work methods, safety measures during work,methods to increase productivity, methods to maintain machine and working area,techniques for reduction of wastage,proper method of handing over work to next shift, Prabhu said.

The videos will cover entire work best practices and techniques, as there were training departments and exclusive trainers in all spinning mills, he said in a release.

Stating that ITF has collected all the best practices prevailing in the member mills and prepared the video with the help of professionals, he said that a mill will first train
all the new workers with these videos for better understanding and know-how on proper methodology of work before inducting them in to practical training on the shop floor .

ITF has plans to release 10 more videos related to other departments in the spinning industry, he said adding that such video contents are available in Regional languages including Tamil, English and Hindi.

Mills from across India can download them free of cost and use for their workers training, as it will help the mills in making training more interesting and also have a professional approach towards the same, Prabhu said.
