Prime accused arrested in blast case

The City Police on Saturday arrested the prime accused in the blast case in which a 52-year-old man died here on Thursday.

According to sources, Police arrested Shanmugham and his daughters Devi and Tulasimani from Keeraithottam on Selvapuram By-Pass Road. A powerful cracker, made in their house, burst killing Ravi (52) from Kempatti Colony.

However, the prime accused Sivakumar (42) was absconding and the Selvapuram police was on a manhunt. He was finally arrested on Thursday and on investigation it was found that Sivakumar was running the cracker business for many years. The Police also seized the equipment and material from his house.
