Manaroopa, a film produced by CMCR Movies, has relied on young and emerging talents to deliver the intended message. The main characters took a crash refreshing course in acting for 15 days before shooting commenced. The film has been shot in Sirsi & Siddhapura, Uttara Kannada district, Karnataka.
Manaroopa is a film about planned get-together of 5 friends after one decade and this takes them to the dense forest of Western Ghats. The escapable nature in them makes them choose Karadi Guhe (Bear Cave) as their destination to unwind, recollect the past and also share their future dreams. During the travel, the friends crave for the good old days and intimately discuss the missed opportunities, which raises issue of morality.
Dileep Kumar, Anusha Rao, Nisha B R, Aryan, and Shivaprasad are in the lead role. Amogh Siddharth, Gaja Ninasam and Prajwal Gowda by playing the challenging role of Gummas are bound to thrill and haunt the audience in equal measure by the sheer antics of the new age theme. Theatre artists – Ramananda Inakai, Sateesh Golikoppa, Pawan Kalmane, Yashodha Hosakatta and Bhageerathi Kannadathi have also played memorable roles in the film.
Manaroopa is a film, which narrates the psychology pangs of millennials (those who are born between 1980 and 2000) and how adept they are in managing dual roles in real life. “Certainly, Manaroopa is a new generation movie. It depicts a story of young minds who can’t lead a normal family life, who have difficulty in making adjustments to their life and also who want to stay alone but at the same time keen to garner attention of others all the time” says Director, Kiran Hegde. “Characters in the movie struggle with conflicts between their own dual behaviour,” he added.
Kiran Hegde is confident that Manaroopa will attract audience owing to its bold theme filmed in a stunning natural environment. The film portrays the innate qualities of human being like divorce, love, friendship, self-destruction etc. and at the same time, it also points towards their attitude of violating social rules. This attitude has been described as the dark world in the human mind and in Manaroopa this dark world has been established in bear’s cave (Karadi Guhe).
Govindraj is the Cinematographer for the movie, while Suri and Loki have edited this movie. Manaroopa’s music has been scored by Saravanaa, with Nagaraj Huliwan being the sound designer. The movie’s script has been written by Mahabala Seethalabhavi and Kiran Hegde. The film is in the post-production stage and scheduled to hit the screens during May 2019.
