Officials from the Tamil Nadu Pollution Control Board gave handouts to public in various places to spread awareness on pollution here on Monday.

Mentioning guidelines that are to be followed while burning crackers during Diwali, the officials have advised the public to stop burning crackers after 10 p.m. as per the Supreme Court norms.

It has also asked the public to use open areas to burst crackers and avoid crowded areas to prevent accidents. They have also asked the public not to allow children to fire crackers without supervision and also take preventive steps like keeping a bucket of water or sand handy.
