Coimbatore : A judicial Magistrate Court here Friday allowed Tamil Nadu CB-CID to take Thirunavukkarasu, the key accused in the sensitive sexual harassment case in Pollachi for interrogation for four days.

The accused was produced before Chief Judicial Magistrate, S.Nagarajan, through videoconferencing as police apprehended violence from the general public against him.

After interaction for nearly 20 minutes, Nagarajan allowed the accused to be taken to CBCID custody for four days.

Due to the presence of huge crowd to see a glimpse of the accused on the court premises in the morning hours, police decided to bring him in the evening, fearing public outrage and the situation may go out of control.

CBCID had submitted a petition in the court to allow Thirunavukkarasu to be taken to its custody for interrogation for 15 days and over 500 police personnel were deployed on the court premises, fearing violence.

A large number of lawyers and Law college students were also present at the court, reportedly to stage demonstration.

Besides Thirunavukkarasu, Sathish, Sabarirajan and Vasanth Kumar were arrested and detained under Goondas Act in the sexual harassment case based on the complaint by a 19-year old girl student that she was stripped and videographed and started blackmailing for money threatening to release the visuals.

Meanwhile, the probing agency CBCID, which raided the house of Thirunavukkarasu in Makkinampatti near Pollachi yesterday and reportedly recovered some documents, Friday raided the house of Sabarirajan another accused in Pollachi.

In the meantime, over 100 complaints have been received, following notice issued by CBCID that the affected persons could approach it and the names will be kept secret, police said.
