Coimbatore : L&T Valves, a wholly owned subsidiary of engineering and construction major Larsen & Toubro, today dedicated a renovated ‘Health & Wellness Centre’ at Thirumampalayam on the outskirts to the residents of the region.

The facility was formally handed over by District Collector K Rajamani in the presence of Dr. PG Bhanumathi, Deputy Director of Health Services and Mahesh Joshi, L&T Valves Chief Executive.

The company had undertaken the task of renovating the erstwhile Primary Health Centre (PHC), including electrical, plumbing and painting works and furnishing, as part of its CSR activities.

The renovated centre has a four-bed postnatal care ward, dedicated dressing and store rooms, patient waiting area, washroom for patients, provision for clean drinking water as well as basic medical and surgical equipment.

The improved infrastructure facilities ensured that the PHC, now upgraded as a wellness centre, meets guidelines.

“Through the renovated PHC with CSR support from L&T Valves and now upgraded as a Health and Wellness Centre, rural residents, including antenatal care/PNC mothers will be able to avail of better services,” Rajamani said.

The company earlier extended CSR support to improve infrastructure and medical facilities at Arisipalayam and Vellalore PHCs.

The company would be extending similar CSR support to improve infrastructure medical facilities at Government Hospital, Madukkarai here, during the current financial year, Joshi said.
