13K kg plastic bags seized, Rs 14.38L fine in 6 months

Coimbatore : Officials of Coimbatore corporation have seized 12,995 kg of banned plastic materials and realised a Rs 14,38,110 as fine in the last six months.
The officials raided 29,642 shops in five zones of the corporation between January and June 26.
In north zone 4,594 shops were raided and 960 kg plastic seized and fine of Rs4,56,500, in south zone 4,574 shops, 3,829.5 kg plastic and Rs1,51,500 fine, east zone 5,230 shops, 5,685 kg plastic and Rs 2,39,900 fine, west zone 10,339 shops, 1,549 kg plastic and Rs 3,16,600 fine and in central zone 4,905 shops, 934.5 kg plastic and Rs 2,75,650 fine.
