Apprenticeship-based UG degree course in city college launched

Coimbatore : Sri Krishna Arts and Science College here has recently launched a new apprenticeship-based UG degree programme BBA in logistics.

The programme is based on an MoU signed between the college and Logistic Sector Skill Council (LSC), a not-for-profit organisation set up by Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE) through National Skill Development Corporation of India (NSDC) and promoted by Confederation of Indian Industries Institute of Logistics (CII-IL).

The curriculum has been designed by LSC for skilling of youth in education and the primary objective of the course is to create adequate skills for gainful employment at supervisory/managerial levels in the logistics industry, a college statement said. There will be industry-based apprenticeship.

The college is one among the 18 institutions at the national level to offer this programme.

Logistics Skill Sector Council CEO, TS Ramanujam and education initiative head of Logistics Skill Council Ganesan were the chief guests at the launch.
