Coimbatore : Close on the heels of the demonstration by the VHP and Hindu Makkal Katchi, demanding opening of temples, Hindu Munnani activists today staged a novel protest by standing on one leg in front of various temples in and around the city, seeking the Tamil Nadu government to order to open the temples.

Holding saffron flags of the organisation, the workers stood on one leg in front of the Siddhi Vinayaka Temple in Gandhipuram and raised slogans in support of their demand.

Stating that many States in the country have given permission to open the temples, even Tirupathi and Somnath, they said that Tamil Nadu
government is not not allowing the devotees to go and pray at the temple to ease their mental tension.

They also warned to intensify their agitation, if the Government failed to take a favourable decision.
