together.

PARTICIPATION

GROUP 1 : JUNIORS : 8-12 YEARS (3 to 6 participants)

GROUP II : SENIORS : 13-18 YEARS ( 3 to 6 participants)

The prize distribution will be held at 3.30 PM.

A lot of research has been conducted where the benefits of group singing has been scientifically proven.

1. In group singing, both the left and right hemispheres of the brain get balanced.

2. While singing it activates the respiratory system and promotes oxygenation.

3. Those who sang showed higher levels of immunoglobulin A, an antibody your body secretes to help you fend off infections. Listening to music (without singing along) reduced stress hormones but didn’t stimulate the body’s immune system.

4. A study conducted by the University of California tested the levels of cortisol (a hormone released in stressful situations) in a number of subjects before and after they participated in choir singing. It revealed that singing leads to a drop in cortisol levels, with a consequent increase in positive thoughts and satisfaction.

Considering the immense benefits of singing bhajans in a group, the whole purpose of this competition is to inspire young children to get into the habit of singing bhajans so that they can benefit from this ancient tradition of ours.

This is also to draw attention to the education institutions to make them aware of the power of singing and imbibe this practice in their institutions.
