Coimbatore, 16th September 2026 – Second edition of NGI Olympiad 2026, organized by Nehru Arts and Science College (Autonomous), was held at the P.K. Das Auditorium, T. M. Palayam, Coimbatore, on Thursday. The Olympiad witnessed the participation of 1,400 students from 40 schools across Tamil Nadu and Kerala. The competition was organized as an academic platform to identify and encourage excellence among school students through a structured, multi-level assessment.
The competition comprised Category I and Category II, with students competing across 10 papers covering different areas of academic learning. It was conducted in successive stages, with students who performed well in the initial level progressing to the Level Two Pre-Finals. The best performing students from the subsequent round advanced to the Level Three Finals, where they competed for top honours. The initiative provided students with an opportunity to test their knowledge and academic skills in a competitive environment while encouraging a spirit of learning, perseverance and healthy competition.
Dr. Chaithanya Krishnakumar, Correspondent, Nehru International School, delivered the presidential address. She emphasized the significance of academic competitions in motivating students to pursue excellence and develop confidence in their abilities. Dr. H.N. Nagaraja, Executive Director (A&A), NGI, and Dr. B. Anirudhan, Director – Ranking, Accreditation and Placements, NGI, felicitated the achievers at the ceremony.
The award ceremony recognized the students who emerged successful through the different stages of the Olympiad. The event also celebrated the efforts of the participating schools and students and highlighted the importance of providing young learners with opportunities to demonstrate and develop their academic potential.
