Karunya University to offer new courses at its city campus

Karunya University is all set to introduce various new business and arts & science courses in its brand new city campus from the next academic year.

Pro Vice-Chancellor of Karunya University, Dr. M.K. Xavier told reporters today that the university will offer MBA, BBA, B.Com, BCA, B Sc (IT), and B Sc (Visual Communications), along with part-time B. Tech and M. Tech engineering courses from 2016-17 academic year.

The campus will operate in shifts, and students can choose either the forenoon or afternoon batches, with hostel facility. Stating that the scheme will be beneficial to working and part-time students, Xavier said that the proximity to the city will give them greater exposure to industries.

Karunya University had recently bagged two national-level excellence awards as the Best University in Sports, and the Best University Serving Social Cause (under Corporate Social responsibilities), he said. The awards were presented by the Union Minister of State for HRD, Ram Shankar Katheria, at a function in New Delhi, yesterday.
