Now people visiting the Coimbatore Medical College Hospital (CMCH) will not have to wait long to be treated as out-patients.

The hospital will soon open five new counters to provide Outpatient (OP) tickets, in addition to the three existing counters.

Speaking to reporters, A. Edwin Joe, Dean of CMCH, said that the new counters would be used to issue new OP tickets, while renewals would be done from the old counters.

According to a senior official of CMCH, 5,000 to 6,000 outpatients visit CMCH on a daily basis. They had to depend only on three counters for the OP tickets.

There is however, a need for more counters, according to patients who frequent the hospital.
