Training for zonal officers on electoral process

Training in electoral process was offered to the zonal officers, appointed in the 10 assembly constituencies in the district.
A total of 241 zonal officers participated in the first phase of the training, given by the election officers of respective constituencies, official sources said.
While 29 zonal officers were appointed in Mettupalayam, 23 in Sulur, Koundampalayam 27, Coimbatore North 19, Thondamurthur 21, Coimbatore South 21, Singanallur 26, Kinathukadavu 21, Pollachi 28 and Valparai 26..
Meanwhile, as part of the drive against violation of election code of conduct, the officials removed 49 graffities, 27 posters and 27 banners in the area belonging to Corporation and Municipalities.
Similarly, 10 wall posts and 23 advertisement on the private bwalls were destroyed , they said.
