TVS Motors and MCET sign MoU

Pollachi-based Mahalingam College of Engineering and Technology (MCET) on Thursday entered into a strategic partnership with TVS Motor Company, to involve in developing industry supported BE Programme and offer it to deserving students.

A Memorandum of Understanding to this effect was signed by M. Manickam, MCET Chairman, and V. Kovaichelvan, Senior Vice-President (HR), TVS Motor Company.

TVS-MCET Collaborative Educational Programme was aimed at bridging the gap between the quality of engineers expected by the industry and the graduating engineers, MCET Chairman, M. Manickam, told reporters during the inking of MoU.

Stating that the objective of the programme was to improve the ability to develop role-ready engineers with professional values for the industry, Mr. Manickam said that this would meet the human resources’ development needs of TVS.

Mr. Kovaichelvan said the company was absorbing some 50 engineers annually, and expected to take 20 engineers from MCET.

The programme, nurtured technical education by infusing industry practices into education and improving the skills of instructors and students, he said.

“TVS will provide industry internship programme to students as part of the course, with outcome-based curriculum and also offer special training to the faculty members to upgrade their knowledge and skill.
