The meeting between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Tamil Nadu Chief Minister had lasted just over an hour, but the president of Tamil Nadu BJP has since then been busy denying speculations of coalitions ahead of the state elections. In response to the allegations made by E.V.K.S Elangovan, Dr. Tamilisai Sounderarajan has accused the TNCC of lacking ‘political decency’.

Denying that politics was behind the meeting, Tamilisai said that calling the formal interaction a ‘secret partnership’ was the height of political indecency. She was speaking to the reporters at Mettupalayam.

She wondered why Vaiko had nothing positive to say about the Centre’s steps to stop the construction of dam across Mullaperiyar in Kerala. Tamilisai also said that BJP will continue its protests demanding the closure of TASMAC shops in Tamil Nadu. Demonstrations will be held at all the district headquarters on August 10 and 11.
