Black flag demonstrations planned against Sonia, Rahul

The activists of Thanthai Periyar Dravida Kazhakam (TPDK) are getting ready to stage black flag protests against Congress president Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi, when they arrive in Tamil Nadu for election campaigns. The protest is over the issue of Sri Lankan Tamils.

According to the the TPDK general secretary K. Ramakrishnan, the Congress-led UPA government of being a silent spectator when the Sri Lankan army killed thousands of Tamils during the final stage of a proxy war in 2011.

The activists have planned to stage a black flag demonstration against Sonia Gandhi, when she arrives at Chennai on May 5, and on May 7, when Rahul Gandhi comes to the state capital.
