Sri Krishna Institutions on Monday entered into a memorandum of understanding with Cambridge English Language Assessment, a part of the University of Cambridge, for conducting Business English Certificate (BEC) course.

“Those who have completed BEC will be given preference in getting employment in MNCs, The BEC will help develop and improve the communication skills in English, which is a major hurdle in getting the suitable jobs,” Angella Ffrench, Director, Operations,South Asia, University of Cambridge, said.

Sri Krishna was the 10th Institution in India to enter into the MOU, she added.

Stating that language played an important role in exchanging views, ideas, thoughts, feelings and business expansions, she said that learning a new language was not an easy task. But it was essential to know the common global language to understand the culture and improve
business.

“English is the common language which links the world. Nearly 400 million people speak English in the world – 65 per cent in English speaking countries. Nearly 85 per cent contents in the Internet are in English,” the Director said.

S. Malarvizhi, Chairperson and Managing Trustee of Sri Krishna Institutions, who signed the MOU, said the first MOU was signed last year, and had been extended for another three years.

About 1,023 students got BEC out of 1,057 who appeared last year. Students of Sri Krishna Institutions achieved 96.5 per cent pass percentage as against the average of only 65 per cent in Cambridge, she said.
