Agitated with the demise of a four-year-old boy, who died after alleged wrong treatments carried out by a private hospital near Saibaba Colony in Coimbatore, parents and relatives of the boy picketed the Coimbatore Collectorate staging a demonstration here on Tuesday.

According to relatives, the deceased M. Deepak had reportedly complained of ear pain after which his parents had taken him to Paavai ENT Hospital near Saibaba Colony in Coimbatore on Monday.

After cleaning his ears, one of the doctors from the hospital had reportedly injected with two doses. However, Deepak had fainted and the doctor had shifted to the Coimbatore Medical College Hospital (CMCH).

Officials from the CMCH, who tested Deepak, had announced him brought dead and his body was sent for autopsy.

Agitated with the demise of Deepak, his parents and relatives staged a demonstration in front of the Coimbatore District Collectorate on Monday seeking actions against the hospital authorities for alleged wrong treatments carried out on Deepak, which has resulted in his demise.

The protesters were later pacified by the police, who assured that an enquiry would be conducted with the help of the District Administration and proper actions would be taken.
