The DMK-Congress alliance has something to cheer about – they are all set to form the new government in Pudhucherry.
Pudhucherry has 30 assembly seats, and over nine lakh voters. The ruling AINRC, led by N. Rangasamy, the party’s founder and current chief minister, got only eight seats, while the DMK-Congress have won 17.
The remaining five seats were split between the AIADMK (four) and an independent candidate.
Rangasamy had tendered his resignation, following the results.
