Karunanidhi cuts a 93-kilo cake on birthday!

The DMK chief M. Karunanidhi, the seniormost active politician in the Indian political scene, celebrated his 93rd birthday today by cutting a 93 kilo cake. This was followed by a slew of welfare measures to the poor.
After offering floral tributes to the DMK founder leader Annadurai, and E.V. Ramasamy Periyar, Karunanidhi planted a sapling at his residence. Later, he cut the specially made 93-kilo cake in the presence of his family members and friends.
He met the party workers at Anna Arivalayam. Among those present at the DMK headquarters to meet him were A. Raja, T.R Baalu, Duraimurugan, and others. He also interacted with the leaders of the allied parties.
Surprise visitors who turned up to greet him include BJP state president Tamizhisai Soundararajan, and Thol Thirumavalavan of the Viduthalai Chiruthaigal Katchi (VCK). They were among the parties that had viciously attacked the DMK and its chief during the recent elections.
