City-based social worker and author A. Venkatachalam has accused CPI leader D. Pandian of plagiarism.

According to Venkatachalam, the book Thiruvalluvarin Arasiyal, Poruladara Kolkaigal (Political and economic policies of Thiruvalluvar) written by him was released on January 13, 2013. “I worked on the book for more than seven years and completed in 2000. I could only publish it much later as I was involved in social work.”

According to him, D. Pandian’s Thiruvalluvarin Arasiyal Poruladharam, that was published in March 2016 by New Century Publications contained many of his ideas, including the title, that he had discussed in his book. “I have proof for that,” he added.

Venkatachalam has filed a complaint with the City Police Commissioner, A. Amalraj, who has forwarded it to the Central Crime Branch. “I will move the court if police fail to take action,” Venkatachalam said.
