Showing contempt over the laws that are allegedly against the rights of the lawyers, the students of the Coimbatore Law College today attempted a road roko on the Avinashi Road Flyover, near Uppilipalayam here in Coimbatore.

Around 50 students, who gathered at the flyover, blocked the road and raised slogans against the judges who were allegedly trying to curtail the rights of lawyers. They demanded that the laws be withdrawn and lawyers given rights in certain aspects.

Since the road roko was carried out on the busy flyover, police officials found it difficult to pacify the protesters, who had to be detained in order to clear the traffic in the area.

The students declared that they intend to continue their protest until their demands are met.
