The Tamil Nadu Press Employees Union today honoured 19 students, who had secured good marks in the 10th and 12th standard public examinations in the Nilgiris district.

Giving away the awards, the vice-chancellor of Bharathiar University, A. Ganapathy, lauded the students for their efforts in spite of difficulties and challenges they faced.

“It is not easy to succeed in exams with high marks given that you are from a tough terrain like Nilgiris. The Government has been helping students from such places with adequate facilities in schools to help them succeed,” he said.

He also appreciated the association for offering moral and financial support to the students.
The TNPEU also honoured many other achievers in various fields. He also honoured media persons for their work.
