Man arrested for sexually assaulting stepdaughter

A construction worker was arrested today for allegedly sexually assaulting his stepdaughter who was living with him, a few days ago.
48-year-old Ravichandran, a native of Madurai, deserted his wife and two children, and relocated to Coimbatore city two years ago. He had brought a woman and her 17-year-old daughter with him and were staying in a rented house in Papanaickenpalayam.
Ravichandran had been threatening the teenager of dire consequences and sexually exploiting her for a while now. Her mother came to know about the incident when the daughter started developing health problems, and lodged a complaint with the All Woman Police Station.
The police arrested Ravichandran, after investigations, and remanded him to custody.
