Expelled AIADMK Rajya Sabha MP, Sasikala Pushpa, her husband Lingeswara Tilagam and son Pradeep Raja on Wednesday rushed to the Madras High Court and sought anticipatory bail, fearing arrest.

Sasikala Pushpa had done the unthinkable – lambasted the leadership in a serious allegation in the Rajya Sabha that was telecast live on Monday, sparking off her immediate sacking from the party. But, fearing for her life, as she lamented inside the Parliament and outside to media persons, Sasikala and her family members fear anything might happen to them and that they were marked people in the state under the rule of Puratatchi Thalaivi Amma.

The Rajya Sabha unattached member, after she was expelled from the AIADMK, and her husband and son, who live in Anna Nagar apprehended that the local police could arrest them and sought anticipatory bail.

Sasikala’s family members apprehend that even a minor complaint from a local resident, with whom they had a verbal duel could be used as a ruse to arrest them, for political reasons. Incidentally, the DMK and the Congress came to her aid when she was speaking her heart out in the Rajya Sabha where she declared that she will not resign her constitutional post, even though she was being pressurized to do so.

Justice S Vaidyanathan, who was hearing the matter posted it for further hearing on Friday. Incidentally, the Rajya Sabha MPs Tuticorin home was attacked by some unknown persons on Monday when she launched a diatribe against her party superiors.
